SYNOPSIS:  Millions are affected by domestic violence and child abuse and never recover mentally and/or physically from it. Our story is about Breezy Reynolds, a social worker in the south, who in helping thousands with government assistance, meets a very young single Mexican/American mother of two, Rosa. Rosa is not only struggling with providing and caring for her two children, but also is dealing with an abusive boyfriend, who is also the father of one of her children. Breezy knows the abusive signs well and gets involved in Rosa’s personal life. This new relationship brings out the troubled past that Breezy has buried in the back of her mind, and has never spoke of the terrible things she endured as a young child and mother herself, even to her present family of many years. This true life, faith based story begins at the Social Services offices with various cases being handled by Breezy, her colleagues and friends. Some very dramatic and humorous sequences happen daily in the office and break room. Breezy’s current life takes a dramatic change when she calls Rosa Martinez’s name and works her case. She persuades Rosa to tell her about the abuse she is enduring from her boyfriend and thus, opens up her own wounds from the past. These various stories are true and are told through a series of flashbacks that climax with Breezy bringing out a forgotten old box from the garage, with the faded words, “Box of Angels” written on the top. These angels in this box just happen to be photos and memorabilia of her two children and her sister’s three children that died in a fire back in 1978. Also, photos of her deceased sister, who never recovered from the fatal accident that changed many lives in the Fayetteville, NC community. And we also visit the church where the children come to visit Breezy and let her know they have a seat in heaven waiting for her. A memorable scene to add to the Hollywood greats list. This story displays fits of violence, disrespect, rage and an extreme ballast of sadness from domestic violence and loss of life, but shows how we are all different but the same. How we have the same problems no matter what our skin color or nationality. A very heartfelt and touching story of one downtrodden girl, who overcomes the lunacy and loss of life, to find jubilant peace through her faith in God.
