LOGLINE:  Three 10 year old boys find an old diary in an abandoned house that tells the story of a young mans struggle with life, love and adventure in the old west. This family action/comedy will entertain young and old for generations to come.

SYNOPSIS:  When Ronny decides to take his two friends, Tubb and AJ into his parents old abandoned house, little did he know the fate that awaits the three. They stumble upon an old diary that was hidden in the fireplace. They begin reading the diary and it take us back to the late 1800's where good hearted William and his mother Catherine are just trying to get by in this small town in New Mexico. But things change in their town when the gold comes. The town Sheriff welcomes Coolly Weathers, a famous Marshall, who with his two deputies, are put in charge of protecting the gold. Catherine has always told William that his father died of a heart attack, but William finds out the truth from his teachers old friend, Sam Right, who he meets on the town street. Sam tells him his father was killed in a gun fight by Coolly Weathers. William sneaks out that night, finds Coolly and gets beat up by him. Coolly and his henchmen steal the gold and frame it on William's girlfriends father, the town's blacksmith, Mr. Flanders. Williams girlfriend is Cecelia, who teaches William how to shoot her rifle(he pretends not to know how) and they fall in love, without the love making. William and Cecelia are at her house when Coolly and his boys come looking for her father. Coolly tells Cecelia that he is going to kill Flanders. William and Cecelia find Flanders, but so does the posse who take him to town and get ready to hang him in front of the whole town. William shows up, kills Coolly, his henchmen and is then an outlaw having murdered the three lawmen right in front of the town and the Sheriff. This embarks the legend of Billy the Kid, who has to run, leaving his grieving mother, girlfriend and whole way of life. Wanted posters are put up everywhere and to make a living William has to rob banks to survive. He becomes good at it and the posters keep coming with more bounty on his head. He grows older, gets involved in the Lincoln County War, visits his mothers grave, visits Cecelia who becomes Annie Oakley, because of her marksmanship and trick shooting and starts a family, not with Cecelia though. He gets a pardon from the Governor, not public though and dies an old man. Ronny finds out he is the great grandson of one of the most famous outlaws of the old west. The boys then think about the gold and where it can be hidden. After they look awhile in the house, Ronny finds the gold in the fireplace. They are jubilant. There are several modern day scenes with the boys though. There is a baseball game where we find out Ronny is very fast. There is the smelly shorts scene with Tubb and Emily, and there is of course the old house. A great family movie that will bring young and old together.
