Forest Whitaker

Co-Chairman/Filmmaker

Forest Whitaker is a renowned American artist and humanist. Most notably he was honored with the Academy Award as well as an Emmy Award, BAFTA, SAG Award and Golden Globe for Best Actor. As a social conscious filmmaker, Forest has produced award-winning documentaries helping to raise global awareness which have garnered him the Peabody and Cinema for Peace Awards. He often provides opportunities for emerging filmmakers by mentoring and producing their films. Forest’s work also includes the development of corporate web-based fantasy games along with social media platforms geared towards global peace building. In 2011, he co-founded the International Institute for Peace at Rutgers University and was designated as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Peace and Reconciliation. @ForestWhitaker.


Philippe Caland

Founder/Chairman/Filmmaker

Philippe Caland has written, directed, produced, and executive produced independent films for the past twenty years. Over the last 10 years, Philippe studied the changing industry of filmmaking and created a patent for the methodology upon which JuntoBox Films is based. Philippe has directed several films, Hollywood Buddha which won 'Official Selection' at the SXSW Film Festival and The Paris Film Festival and Ripple Effect which won both the Boston International and Sedona Film Festival and stars Academy Award winning actor Forest Whitaker. Philippe recently directed the thriller Vipaka that stars Anthony Mackie and Forest Whitaker and is scheduled for release in 2012.


Nina Yang

COO

Nina Yang is a seasoned film professional with 15 years of combined production, finance and management experience in the entertainment industry between Hollywood and Asia. Nina develops/creates business strategies and alliances covering feature films, television, documentaries and new media with domestic & global strategic partners for Forest Whitaker's Significant Productions based at Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. She received her graduate degree in Entertainment Management from the Annenberg/Cinematic School at the University of Southern California.


Rachael McLean

Digital

Rachael McLean is an accomplished digital media professional with over 12 years of  global product development, strategy, marketing, social media and content experience across music, youth, video gaming and entertainment industries. Rachael was  involved with several digital start-ups earlier on in her career in New York, London and was at MTV Networks for 8 years as Vice President, MTVN International Digital Group. Rachael held executive positions at Championship Gaming Series which was owned by Sky, DirecTV, and also at at Infospace Mobile and then GoTV mobile developing entertainment and music brands and digital products for mobile platforms.  Rachael is leading digital at JuntoBox Films and also advisor to Dather Digital. @rachaelmclean


Megan Westerby

Social Media & Marketing

Megan Westerby is an expert in branded social media strategy and in the fields of online branding, marketing and new media innovation. As Social Media Senior Coordinator at The Recording Academy, she was instrumental in expanding the digital reach of the foundation, increasing television ratings for the GRAMMY Awards for three years running. At Sony Pictures Imageworks Interactive, a full service digital marketing agency, she coordinated innovative projects including an all-digital campaign to promote the theatrical re-release of Ghostbusters. She cares deeply about the open future of the internet and spent a year as the Chair of the Development and Membership Committee for the Organization for Transformative Works. @meganwest.


Chase Kinser

Creative Assistant

Chase Kinser double majored in Film Studies and Economics from Boston College and his career is following his passion merging art with business. Chase began entered the film industry directly after graduation working at Framework Pictures and Sierra Pictures while continuing his education at UCLA's Professional Program in Producing. He quickly earned promotions and was recruited by JuntoBox Films in October of 2010, where he supports the creative and analytical aspects of the company's film and digital divisions. @chasekinser


Shirley Petchprapa

Filmmaker/Art Director

Shirley Petchprapa is an award winning filmmaker born and raised in New York City now living in Los Angeles. Since 2006 she has been working exclusively in film and recently won the award for Best Soundscape for her short Tuesday from the Dresden FilmFest in Germany as well as an IFP award for her short documentary Parkour, NYC. Her latest short film ROXY recently screened at the prestigious Festival del film Locarno in Switzerland. Both films, of which she colored and edited herself, are travelling the festival circuit worldwide. Prior to film Shirley had a 10-year career in art direction, graphic design and photography working for companies such as MTV, The Fader Magazine, Russell Simmon's Oneworld Magazine and advertising clients such as Red Stripe and Levi's. Joseph Semense

Manager of Production

Joseph Semense majored in Radio-Television-Film at California State University, Long Beach. He has co-produced three films with writer/director Philippe Caland (Hollywood Buddha, Ripple Effect, and Tripping Tommy) and also served as a co-editor on the films. Recently, Joseph was co-producer of Low-Fidelity, a feature film written and directed by Devon Gummersall. In addition, he has done some writing, editing and camera work for the Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Lemony Snicket, and Crank Yankers bonus feature documentaries on DVD.


Greg Warner

Content PA

Greg Warner recently graduated from USC where he earned degrees in Political Science and Italian. Realizing that film and digital media were far more appealing than the politics, he joined JuntoBox in 2011 after working briefly in a campaign office. His work at JuntoBox principally consists of generating online content and assisting with social media development. Greg previously worked at Zeropointzero, a studio that produces travel and food-focused programming. @gdub132


Matthew Jones

Content PA

Matthew Jones cultivated his passion for visual story telling at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Since graduating with a Critical Studies B.A. in 2010, he has worked as an entertainment professional in several capacities: television production, feature film development, branded content, post-production and freelance music production. Matt is responsible for content design and producing digital content. In his free time, Matt enjoys Laker basketball, surfing, listening to, creating, and performing music. @mboltjones
